BUYING ADVICE
If you have not bought with us before, please read the following guide to Buying at Louis Taylor Fine Art Auctioneers and Valuers. Buying at Auction is a very simple procedure. If you require advice on any lot in any of our Sales, do not hesitate to contact a member of our staff by telephone, fax or E-mail See Contact Us. We will advise you to the best of our ability on quality, condition, value or any other matter. It is important to us that you are happy with your purchase and that you become a regular customer.
CATALOGUES
These are available from the Auction Rooms and are currently priced at £7 (£8 including postage). Annual catalogue subscriptions are available. Catalogues of all Sales, including General Sales, appear on this and other Specialist Websites, together with Images of Lots, where appropriate.
VIEWING OF SALES
Prospective purchasers of goods are provided with every opportunity to view the broad range of items available, with Specialist Staff in attendance either at the Saleroom or at the end of a telephone to answer any questions.. Viewing for Two Day Fine Art Sales takes place the prior Thursday 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. and the prior Friday 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. For General Sales viewing takes place the prior Friday 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. and the prior Saturday morning 9 a.m. – 12 noon. (No viewing on the Saturday morning if a Bank Holiday weekend).
CATALOGUE DESCRIPTIONS
Care is taken to ensure that any statement as to authorship, attribution, origin, date, etc., is reliable and accurate. All such statements are opinion only and are not taken as statements or representations of fact. Bidders are strongly recommended to personally inspect the lot for which they intend to bid.
LEAVING BIDS/TELEPHONE BIDS
If a prospective purchaser cannot attend the Sale – they can leave bids with the Auctioneer who will endeavour to purchase the lots as cheaply as possible taking into consideration other bids and/or any reserves. Alternatively, the buyer may choose to bid by telephone on the day of the Sale. Providing the lot is estimated to be above £400, we will be pleased to call you for this purpose shortly before the lot comes up for sale. Telephone lines are limited and therefore early booking is essential.
BUYERS PREMIUM
The purchaser shall pay the hammer price together with a buyers premium of 17.5% of the hammer price plus vat on the buyers premium only. (Making a total of 20.12% to be paid on top of the hammer price).
PAYMENT
All purchases must be paid for and removed by the end of the week of that particular Sale. Our terms are cash, cheque supported by a guarantee card, Building Society cheque or Bankers Draft.
COLLECTION

The vase was bought by the Charles Catteau foundation based in Belgium.
